Kortshut works on a simple mental model: clipboard → action → result. Once you understand this flow, everything else falls into place.

The Basic Flow

1. Clipboard

Copy any text to your clipboard, a paragraph, a URL, a code snippet, a message, anything. Kortshut automatically detects what's on your clipboard and gets ready to work with it.

You don't need to do anything special. Just copy like you normally would.

2. Action

Trigger Kortshut with your configured keyboard shortcut (the default is ⌘⇧K). This brings up the Quick Actions menu, where you can choose what you want to do with your clipboard content.

Want to summarize that long article? Rewrite this email to sound more professional? Extract contact information from a message? Just select the action.

3. Result

Kortshut runs the AI action and delivers the result exactly where you need it:

Your First Action

Let's try it:

  1. Copy some text—maybe a paragraph from an article or email
  2. Press your Kortshut shortcut (⌘⇧K by default)
  3. Type "summarize" or select Summarize from the menu
