Getting Started

How do I trigger Kortshut?

The default keyboard shortcut is ⌘⇧K (Command + Shift + K). You can customize this in the app settings to whatever feels natural for your workflow.

Do I need to have something copied first?

Not always. While most actions work on clipboard content, you can also trigger Kortshut and then paste or type content directly into the action window.

What happens to my clipboard after an action runs?

By default, the result replaces your clipboard content. But you can configure actions to send results elsewhere (directly to your cursor, to a file, etc.) and preserve your original clipboard.

Using Quick Actions

Can I customize existing actions?

Yes. Every Quick Action has configurable settings including the AI model it uses, the specific prompt, and how it delivers results. Click the settings icon next to any action to adjust it.

How do I create my own actions?

Click the "+" button in the Quick Actions menu. Give your action a name, write the prompt you want the AI to follow, configure input and output settings, and assign it a keyword or shortcut.

Can I assign keyboard shortcuts to specific actions?

Absolutely. This is one of Kortshut's superpowers. You can map ⌘⌥S to "Summarize" or ⌘⌥R to "Rewrite" and skip the menu entirely.
